This story really hit me hard. The abusive ex I had years ago had other girlfriends after me, who ALL sent me messages of his abuse towards them while they were together. They asked me if it was just them, or did he have a history of abuse.

My ex had never laid hands on me, but it left me troubled knowing that after me, his abuse became physical. I had to talk them through the trauma and reassured them that it was not their fault.

I wish there was something I could do legally that could hold him accountable for what he did. I feel guilt over what he had become.

His current girlfriend seems happy with him now though. I don’t know much about their relationship, but I hope he is not violent with her.
