The Weight Of Child Pornography

Should consuming child pornography be considered just as criminal as producing it? Is it really a harmless fetish, as claimed by some?

TRIGGER WARNING: This post about might be disturbing to some. I urge you to prepare yourself emotionally beforehand. I apologise for some graphic explanations, however, I believe that child pornography is an issue we need to tackle head-on. It is the least that we can do for the victims and their family.

If you were not aware, convicted child porn offender Nur Fitri Azmeer Nordin has returned from the UK. Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Bangi gave him a second chance to continue his studies.

Nur Fitri Azmeer Nordin served time in prison in the UK for possessing more than 30,000 child pornography videos and images.

It only makes sense that many Malaysians are cautious and wary that he is now a free man among us, considering the weight of his crimes. Regardless, there were many Malaysians who were eager to jump in defence of him. This really baffled me.

Whether we should grant child porn offenders and paedophiles a second chance is a moral debate that I have no authority over, hence I will not talk about that. I also refuse to give this man any…
