Thanks for sharing this, Shannon. Not many people will be willing to admit that they did not want to be a mom. I know I didn’t. The plan was to travel and spend more time with my husband before we decided to “settle down” and have kids, but I guess our carelessness got the better of us. We are now 5 months into pregnancy and it still feels surreal to me.

The baby was unplanned, but we can feel ourselves loving them already. Because like what you said, “love in its purest form is a choice,” so we have made the choice to love this baby no matter what.
