Stories Are the Thread of Humanity
Each one is a piece of the puzzle that is our shared human experience.
When we were children, it was not uncommon for elders in our community to share stories of heroes, legends and fairytales with us. They would tell it to us before bedtime or at the table when family and loved ones are gathered. While some of these stories may be fiction, a lot of it are also real-life accounts of life-changing events. These stories were often meant to teach us about morals and important life values.
Everyone knows about Aesop’s Fables, short stories that are full of wisdom. One such story is the story of the tortoise and the hare. This story teaches the lesson of patience and perseverance. Another story is the story of the boy who cried wolf. This story teaches the lesson of honesty and trust.
Aesop’s Fables often feature characters who make poor choices and then have to suffer the consequences. This can teach children the importance of making responsible decisions. Many of the fables also feature characters who are kind to others and are rewarded for their kindness. This can teach children the importance of being kind to others.
