Feeling Disconnected in a Connected World

Now more than ever, we need to emphasise the importance of community.

We are living in an age where people are always using technology. Whether it’s checking their phone, browsing the internet, or watching TV, people are constantly plugged in. This can be seen as both a good and a bad thing. On the one hand, technology allows us to stay connected to the world and learn new things. On the other hand, it can be addictive and distracting, preventing us from living in the present.

In the past, people used to bond in communities. They would work together to improve their quality of life and help each other in times of need. This sense of community was important for people’s well-being, and it helped them feel connected to others. Today, many people have lost this sense of community.

We are also becoming increasingly isolated. With social media, we curate our own little worlds where we only see the things that we want to see. We are less likely to have meaningful conversations with people who don’t share our political views, or less likely to have close relationships with people who don’t look like us. We are less likely to even know our neighbours.
